Open from 10:00am to 4:00pm Boston's Christmas Market promises to be a bumper event. This year there are more stalls, a bigger craft market and Santa's reindeers will be making an appearance. The Santa fun run will start off from the Market Place and there will be a reindeer parade and Santa's Grotto is making a welcome return. Local artists, and the Cast of the Cinderella pantomime will entertain the crowd from a stage housed in a double decker bus and street entertainers will be mingling amongst the crowd. The usual attraction such as the vintage steam engines, food stalls and childrens rides will be attending and this year a fun fair will be located in the old Kwik Save car park. This fun fair will be open on Thursday and Friday (evenings only) and all day Saturday and Sunday. Most of the town centre shops will be open for the duration of the market and full details will be available soon.
The Department for Communities and Local Government has introduced a competition for 12 towns to act as pilot towns to implement some of the recommendations contained in the Mary Portas review of the high street.
On Thursday 15th March Boston BID Ltd is holding a General Meeting at the Assembly Rooms Boston.
This competition is operated by the Royal Horticultural Society with the aim of improving the environment and street scene in towns, villages and cities throughout the United Kingdom.
