Christmas Market

Written on Monday 5th December 2011

This year Boston's Christmas market has moved into Wide Bargate due to the improvement works being carried out in the Market Place. The good news is that the market will run over 2 days instead of the usual one day and will be much bigger than previous years and will include a craft marquee, stage, steam engines, traditional christmas market as well as Santa and his reindeers. Santas Grotto can be found in Pescod square and the reindeers will be nearby on Bargate Green.

Although the main market is being held in Wide Bargate there will still be activity in the market place as local businesses will have stalls to promote their wares, Boston Stump will be holding a Christmas fayre on the Saturday and there will be street entertainers appearing during the day. Not to be missed on Sunday are the Scunthorpe and District pipe band who have been sponsored by local businessman Darron Abbott.

Don't forget to enter the Christmas Treasure hunt. There are several reindeers hidden in various shop windows in the town and the winner will get a hamper of goodies. Full details can be obtained from the Boston Standard offices.

Come along and have an enjoyable day out in Boston.
