BID has contacted the Valuation Office in Lincoln to express concerns over the affect that the work being undertaken in the Market Place will have on local businesses
The valuation office have responded to the effect that some of the businesses in Boston will qualify for temporary rate relief due to the length of the proposed works and a figure of 15% has been mentioned.
The BID has asked for a consultation meeting to be arranged so that businesses can speak to the valuation about their concerns directly. The valuation office have agreed to this and details will be provided once these are known.
The Department for Communities and Local Government has introduced a competition for 12 towns to act as pilot towns to implement some of the recommendations contained in the Mary Portas review of the high street.
On Thursday 15th March Boston BID Ltd is holding a General Meeting at the Assembly Rooms Boston.
This competition is operated by the Royal Horticultural Society with the aim of improving the environment and street scene in towns, villages and cities throughout the United Kingdom.
