The proposed protest march set to take place in Boston on 19th November 2011 is supposed to be a peaceful affair and we hope that this is indeed the case. Whilst not wishing to be seen as scaremongering and at the same time recognising the right of free speech we do have concerns over the potential impact that this march may have on our members businesses.
We have, therefore, contacted Lincolnshire Police to express our concerns. The police have agreed to keep us informed of developments and once they have further information they will provide us with advice on actions our members can take to protect their businesses.
It is our intention to keep members informed as we ourselves receive further information. In the meantime if any members have concerns or additional information please get in touch with the BID manager.
The Department for Communities and Local Government has introduced a competition for 12 towns to act as pilot towns to implement some of the recommendations contained in the Mary Portas review of the high street.
On Thursday 15th March Boston BID Ltd is holding a General Meeting at the Assembly Rooms Boston.
This competition is operated by the Royal Horticultural Society with the aim of improving the environment and street scene in towns, villages and cities throughout the United Kingdom.
