We have been advised by Lincolnshire Police that there are now no protest marches of any kind being planned for Saturday 19th November. They also have no intelligence to suggest that groups from outside of the county intend to come into Boston to protest. They have, however, confirmed that they are maintaining a watching brief and will be able to advise if the situation changes.
This has to be very good news as it means that shops can open for business as usual and make the most of the run up to Christmas.
The Department for Communities and Local Government has introduced a competition for 12 towns to act as pilot towns to implement some of the recommendations contained in the Mary Portas review of the high street.
On Thursday 15th March Boston BID Ltd is holding a General Meeting at the Assembly Rooms Boston.
This competition is operated by the Royal Horticultural Society with the aim of improving the environment and street scene in towns, villages and cities throughout the United Kingdom.
